Please note that hook plates are only recommended for use on wall plates, as they do not allow for adjustment of the gate hinge fixings, which can cause problems over time. We have found that, in some cases, hook plates can put stress on the gate post, particularly near the relief cut, and that any movement of the gate posts, such as twisting, will tend to be exaggerated by hook plates compared to ‘bolt hook’ and ‘drive hook’ fasteners, and that they cannot be adjusted in the future.
